About NOVAX®
A South African battery brand built around one idea: publish cover you can actually collect on.
The brand
Owned here, warranted here
NOVAX® is a registered trade mark owned by Global Batteries Xpress (Pty) Ltd. The batteries are imported to our specification and supplied into the South African market through Global Batteries Xpress and appointed resellers.
We do not publish our manufacturing arrangements, and we do not trade on somebody else's name. What we do publish is the cover, the price and the network — because those are the three things a customer actually deals with.
Batteries are imported. Country of origin is marked on the product label as required by law. NOVAX® makes no claim to be locally manufactured.
The promise
Full replacement, no sliding scale
Battery warranties often shrink as they age — a headline period on the label, a full swap for the first few months, then a shrinking credit against a new battery. Read the fine print on whatever you are comparing us to.
NOVAX® does not work that way. Inside the period on the label — 12, 24 or 26 months, depending on the range — a battery that fails a warranty test is replaced. The same warranty applies in month one and in the last month.
How we measure ourselves
A validated failure rate of 0.26%1
Every NOVAX® returned under warranty is tested at an authorised counter before it is replaced. Those test results are the only source for the figure above.
1 Warranty-validated failures as a percentage of units sold across the NOVAX® range. Measured on 5 400 units — five full containers of 1 080 — of which 14 were returned within the warranty period, failed conductance and load testing at an authorised NOVAX® outlet, and were replaced. Container by container the returns were 3, 2, 5, 1 and 3. It excludes units returned flat that passed testing after recharge, and units rejected under an exclusion listed in the warranty terms. The most recent container is still inside its warranty period, so its figure may yet move. Substantiating records are held by Global Batteries Xpress (Pty) Ltd and are available to a regulator on request. Figure as at 01 September 2026. Recycling
Every battery comes back
A lead-acid battery is hazardous waste at the end of its life, and it is also one of the most recycled products on earth. The lead, the plastic and the acid are all recovered.
The scrap exchange is already built into the NOVAX® counter price. When your battery is replaced, the old one goes back into the recovery chain through the outlet — it does not go into a municipal bin, a hedge or a scrap dealer's yard.
NOVAX® describes lead-acid batteries as recyclable, because they are. We do not describe them as environmentally friendly, because they are not.
